Carmen Milagro’s performances
are certainly not those of your typical Salsa or Latin rock bands. Instead Ms.
Milagro has invoked a musical style that is sophisticated and warm yet, at times,
edgy and sensual. The MILAGRO show
is extremely pleasing to the musical palate with songs in both Spanish and English,
sexy originals and traditional covers that focus on melody and harmony that stir
emotions and inspire you to move and sing!!
Her sensuous vocals have attracted some incredibly talented, high-caliber musicians
to join her on stage such as the multi-instrumentalist Rich Armstrong on trumpet,
percussion, vocals and sometimes DJ (Boz Scaggs, Joyce Cooling) and Marquinho
Brasil, percussionist for Mariah Carey and Miles Davis.
MILAGRO is known and highly praised
for her interpretations of the classic Latin standards ala Gershwin and Porter…but
in Spanish. The show includes songs like Sabor a Mi, Como Fue, Un Viejo Amor,
Como Han Pasado los Anos peppered with English Latin-inspired songs like Be
Careful and In the Meantime.
With television appearances on the Comcast SF Sound cable show, the Bruce Lattimer
Show on Pacifica’s local access Channel 8 as well as Bay Area Vista with
Janice Edwards of NBCTV 11 and Univision’s Channel 14, Encuentro en la
Bahia audiences are once again enjoying smooth boleros and rockin' Spanish love
songs.
This San Francisco-native Latina singer and lyricist has come into her own
as a bandleader. She’s created a show that is both familiar to those in
the Spanish-speaking communities as well as any lover of the traditional Latin
sounds and those who are interested in listening to the various “jazzy
and bolero shades” of Latin music.
Carmen Milagro is available to
perform with her 6-8 piece core band and typically consists of: Trumpet, coronet
and flugelhorn, keys, bass, drums, lead guitar, percussion and vocals but can
also easily grow to a 12 to 16-piece Latin “Orquesta” and is available
for private parties, winery events, festivals, corporate events and her favorite...International
tours!
Carmen Milagro has also played
for elegant & sophisticated weddings (a combination of a classic wedding
ceremony performance and as a jazz ensemble during the reception), private birthday
parties, fundraisers & benefits and television. Most recently they have
been asked to headline at Cache Creek Casino Resort’s Club 888, the world-famous
Top of the Mark Hopkins Hotel as well as Rassela’s Jazz Club in San Francisco,

Cultural Center in Berkeley and many other festivals and venues around the world,
