Damien Marley is the youngest son of Reggae icon Bob Marley and Jamaica's 1977
Miss World Cindy Damian. In 1993 Damien Marley's debut single "Deejay Degree"
was released on Tuff Gong Records and the following year he released "Sexy
Girls On My Mind" for the Main Street label. Damien Marley was a high school student
when he began recording "MR. MARLEY" at the Marley Music 48 track-recording
studio. The album included Bob Marley classics as well as the single "Me
Name Junior Gong" that went to the number one in Hawaii and held that position
for several weeks. Marley’s 2005 release, “Welcome to Jamrock”
became an urban phenomenon. Damien Marley wont Best Reggae Album and Best Urban/Alternative
Performance for “Welcome to Jamrock” at the 2006 Grammy Awards. He
released his latest album in 2010 and continues to perform with hit artist such
as Nas and other headliners.
